Downtown architectural gems, attractions fling open doors free to visitors Saturday

Read Time: 2 min

Buffalo has reinvented itself over the years with a focus on the city’s later 19th- and early 20th-century architecture. The doors to 34 downtown buildings, many from that era, will open free from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, so the public can experience why they garner attention.

Visitors will be able to see architectural gems including the Guaranty Building and M&T Gold Dome Bank, cultural venues that include Road Less Traveled Productions, Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center and the Starlight Studio, churches such as St. Paul’s Cathedral, St. Anthony of Padua Church and the Michigan Street Baptist Church, and residences including The Sinclair.

It’s all part of Doors Open Buffalo 2024, held by Explore Buffalo on the last Saturday of September to acquaint the public with landmark buildings and attractions. For a complete list of locations, addresses, restaurants and other information, go to explorebuffalo.org.
