Ciminelli Real Estate Corporation recently unveiled a vibrant public art installation in the public atrium space at our marque downtown Buffalo office complex, 40-50 Fountain Plaza. Refreshed with new artwork annually, this latest installation marks the 5th year various artists have been featured. The exhibit entitled “Pulse” is a thoughtful collection curated with the help of CannonDesign, featuring the following local artists:

Karen JS Tashjian | Obsession, 2024 (oil on canvas) and Lastdance, 2024 (oil on canvas)

Erin Long | Come Together, 2018 (acrylic, china marker, pencil) and The Bear, 2017 (acrylic, china marker, pencil)

Edreys Wajed | STARZ Sample 1 – 3, 2023 (acrylic)

Kari Achatz | Canopy of Echoes 1 & 2, 2024 (hand cut tyvek)

The public art exhibit is a cornerstone of the tenant and community programming that Ciminelli coordinates at 40-50 Fountain Plaza. Other offerings include yoga, live music, and culinary and art experiences designed to engage the tenants of the building as well as the surrounding business community.  Launched in 2020 on the heels of a major renovation to the public spaces of the building and at the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ciminelli sees the investment in programming as equally critical to a vibrant downtown as improvements to our physical spaces and infrastructure.

In recent years, Ciminelli has engaged with local and national artists to enhance several downtown projects including large scale murals on the exterior of 201 Ellicott and The Sinclair and a unique window application/mural at the Lafayette Court Building. Additionally, unique works of art elevate many of the interiors of Ciminelli buildings including Bethune Lofts and The Mentholatum.

Connecting with the community, enhancing the built environment, and creating an experience for tenants and visitors through our building programming delivers exciting benefits for our tenants, downtown, and the community at large.
